I have returned

Greetings, it is I, your one time leader. Yes, I have returned. Quite frankly, I'm shocked anyone still comes here. I know I did not set a good example at ALL. -is embarrassed- However, I shall endeavor to actually stick around this time.

Just a note: I have forgotten the password to my email address. -is still embarrassed- I'm doing what I can to recover it from Gmail, but, if I can't, then I will have to make a new email. I apologize sincerely to all of you for this.

Hmm, what else? I admit to not having looked through the entire forum yet, but things seem to be under control. If I find issues, I will address them individually. Hopefully I won't find any. -grins-

Pleased to have returned,

Breaking Dawn

I have created a Breaking Dawn forum for those of you who want to talk about the book. It's only accessible for people in the Breaking Dawn group, which you can join any time you finish the book. Just ask to be admitted into the group and I'll trust that you've finished the book.

But, this means that there are to be NO SPOILERS in the rest of the forum. If I catch anyone posting spoilers, they will be banned INSTANTLY. Spoilers posted before now (only one that I can think of) will be forgiven because I was stupid and forgot to tell people not to. But, after this, there are no warnings. Got it? Great!

Forum down for maintenance

Hello everyone, this is a message from Queen of Angst, your admin. I would just like to assure you that there are no problems with the forum. The message:

General error
Could not access list of unread posts from forum

shows when someone tries to access the forum. Please rest assured that this is merely a routine maintenance check, nothing serious. The forum should be back up and working within 12 hours. (If you get this after it starts working, I apologize.)

Thank you for your patience,

Words off the page: The Ink Drinkers Newsletter

Information bulletin

First item of note: Netspeak I've noticed that some people have been breaking the netspeak rule, and I've decided to implement some consequences, which will be as follows:
First offense: a warning
Second offense: banned for 2 days
Third offense: A last warning and banned for a week
Fourth offense: kicked off the board
I mean these seriously, and I am not going to make exceptions. That means that anyone, including our mods or myself, is subjected to these rules. Don't be stupid about this, people.

Second item of note: CharactersEveryone got the message before talking about the character rules. I am going to add an addendum to that: you cannot role play with a character unless it has been approved by either me or Samantha Cullen. She is the mod of the characters forum, so you can talk to her instead of me, if you want. I will make an exception for people whose characters have been taken away because of lack of information, but they should try and get the new bios up as quickly as possible. Anyone wishing to make a new character cannot begin role playing with that character until the bio has been approved and posted.

Third item of note: thread length Those of you who spend time in the rpg forums will notice that I closed Break me, Shake me at page 25. This is not some weird rpg-only thing. I will close all threads once they reach their 25th page and send them to the thread graveyard. You are welcome to look at those threads any time you wish, but you cannot edit them. The mods will also help me do this in their respective mod areas. (kenshinlillith_lovett in the Alternate Universe and Samantha Cullen in the Characters).

RPG news

Break me, Shake meThis is the only story in the Alternate Universe thread. It's gotten very complicated, and many people began posting in it without continuing their stories. Please do not do this. The story is complicated enough without people bringing characters and then forgetting about them. If you are going to post in the story, please post regularly so that your character does not get forgotten. Also, if you do not understand what is going on (and honestly, I don't blame you!) feel free to make your own. I can't promise that it won't be just as complicated, but at least it will be shorter.

After the EndThis story lives in the Cannon Compliant thread, and not many people have posted in it. A description of the story is inside, and it would be nice to have a little more action there. I understand that it isn't as fun when you can't claim Edward for your own, but give it a try!

Random notesSo that's it. The first newsletter. I hope subsequent ones will actually have things to say that people care about, instead of just rules and regulations and whatnot. As usual, feel free to email me or pm me with questions or concerns or whatever. I will reply as soon as I can, though it might not be for a couple days, depending on what my schedule's like. Finals are coming up, so be lenient. Thanks!

Inactive users

There are a few users on the site who have no messages, and even 1 who never even activated his/her account. Because this is a site that requires user participation, I am going to institute a policy as of now: every week, on either Saturday or Sunday, I will delete any users who have no posts. I understand that you might not have had the chance to get on, and you will have a 2 day grace period for both posting and activating. If you don't know what to say, make an introduction thread for yourself. You cannot post in the role play until you create a character, but you can comment on other characters and post fiction. There's plenty to do, and you don't need to wait until you have a character. It would be nice if you started working on one, but it's not required. Just make sure to post.

Cast of characters

Things are getting slightly confusing when it comes to characters (for me, at least!) so here is a cast of characters:

Vampires
Alice Mysterio: a newborn vampire, she is adjusting to being a vampire with a werewolf for a boyfriend. Her best friend is Kenshin Lillith. She's a junior.

Alethea Hunter: an old vampire, though she looks 18. She pretty much does what she wants to do. Not someone to be messed with! Currently attending Forks High School.

Amerie: a mysterious vampire who will not let anyone know about her past. Her destiny is interwoven with that of Alexus and Damaris, but only she knows how far she is willing to go for them.

Arya Malfoy: a witch and a vampire, Arya is the heiress to the kingdom of Averis. She and her twin sister Gabby must decide which of them is to rule and stay alive until then.

Aspen Jones: a dryad turned vampire, Aspen still has some self-control issues. She currently lives with the Barlows, a family of vampires. She attends Forks High school as a sophomore, and is being drawn against her will into the blood feud between the Barlows and the Cullens.

Connor Angel: a 20-year-old vampire, he is Gabby's protector. They fell in love, but are having more than a few problems with their romance. He is posing as a junior to protect her.

Eve Von Lycan: a child of both vampire and werewolf royalty, Eve is a hybrid. She currently attends Forks High School, having spent time in Japan after the death of her parents to learn self-control.

Gabriella Malfoy: Arya's twin sister, Gabby is going through hard times right now. She's confused both about her destiny as Princess of Averis and about her conflicting feelings for Connor and Edward Cullen.

Kenshin Lillith: a very old vampire, Kenshin is still optimistic and open. She makes friends easily, though she tends to be somewhat selfish, and she has trouble thinking of others. She's a good friend, though, and she doesn't want her friends to be hurt.

Syena Xana Tower: a former drug addict, Syena is now a clean, fairly studious vampire. She lives with her "sister" Val and attends Forks High School, posing as a junior. She fell in love with Jasper Cullen, but he clearly isn't ready to commit to a proper relationship with her.

Valentine Diego Tower: Syena's protector and "sister," Val is posing as a senior. She works hard to keep up the treaty with the Cullens, something that isn't easy since Syena's fight with Jasper.

Werewolves
Adrian Colupse: Adrian changed into a wolf for the first time when he was 15. He learned to control the changes, but they're still stressful, and he's having a hardish time adjusting to his new school.

Alexus Lupus: Alexus lived a fairly normal life until she was bitten and changed into a werewolf. She ran away with her sister Damaris to keep her family safe, waiting for the chance to get revenge on the wolf who destroyed the life she had before.

Cody Brown: as a werewolf who imprinted on a vampire, Cody is having more than a few issues right now. He tries to control his emotions and his temper, with varying amounts of success, and his friends help him. He's going through hard times now, but he hopes things will get better soon.

Nate Kouis: Nate is one of Cody's best friends, but he too is having romance issues. His girlfriend Kenshin Lillith ran away, leaving him in pain and very confused. He doesn't know what he wants to do now, and he just hopes that he can make it in the end.

Humans
Damaris Lupus: Alexus' sister, Damaris now lives with her sister in Forks. She helps Alexus control her temper, and she has to deal with her past and think about what will happen to her in the future.

Other
Cedric Tyson Diggory: a wizard who knows the Malfoys, Cedric has traveled to Forks to help them sort out the confused webs of their destinies. He and Gabby might or might not be in love with each other; all that is certain is that they will always be friends.
